Agents don't automate work. They dissolve positions, and leave the responsibility underneath standing.

I ran the same agent rollout in two organizations at once, as the same data leader: a European retail startup and a worldwide volunteer non-profit. Same tools, same strategy, same person. One came apart and had to be partly rebuilt. The other barely noticed.

This talk explains the asymmetry, and what it costs. The startup had turned responsibilities into positions, and the agents found every one of them. The non-profit had none, so nothing structural moved.
